How to make a 360 degree motion panoramic

I recently produced a tutorial for MultimediaShooter.com
on how to make an interactive looping 360 video panoramic.

The 38 minute tutorial I produced can be viewed here:
patrickyen.com/skate360/tutorial.mov

The example I produced for the tutorial can be viewed at:

The original MultimediaShooter blog post
with links to the example files can be viewed here:

Bob Croslin sent me a link on APAD’s discussion board
to this cool 360 video panoramic that MSNBC produced after Katrina:
risingfromruin.msnbc.com/tour.html?roadzoom13btn3

Their video is seamless because it isn’t stitched together.

An article they published on how they made this can be read here:
risingfromruin.msnbc.com/2005/11/you_write_the_c.html

Apparently the equipment they used had a cost of over $15,000.
I wonder if the cost has decreased since then.

The ‘poor man’ process I used is not nearly as proper
but can be accomplished with less than $2000 of equipment and software
(at student discounted prices).

Another somewhat related link of interest is “Wild Sanctuary
which allows you to listen to various kinds of ambient noise
on Google Maps or Google Earth.

Thanks
